Wizard57M's Download Page
Here is a listing of my software offered for download from this page. Please
keep in mind that I'm not a programmer by trade, and only dabble a little
with it. You won't find the next great "killer app" from me, no MS Office
or Word! What I have done is make a few small handy DOS utilities that I
find useful. Also, I tried to make a File/Directory managment tool a few
years back, but with Windows introduction and its built-in tools, File Manager
and Explorer, the need for another file management tool sort of faded. However,
I have tried to keep Directory Wizard somewhat functional, and I still use
it daily. Please don't flame me for these meager offerings! Flames will be
appropriately doused with an equally vehement amount of digital water! Hehehe!
Also, these little tools are freeware, use them however you see fit. My family
has asked me not to rely on my programming skills to earn a living. I guess
they recognize my limited prowess and have decided that food, clothing, housing
and other niceties are more easily obtained if I keep my present career on
track, hahaha! I do have a few little Windows tools, will work in Windows 3.1
or higher (at least it works in WIN95). WizCrypt is the Windows incarnation of
WizCODE file encryption. Note that the 2 applications ARE
NOT INTERCHANGEABLE! Files encrypted with one cannot be decrypted by the
other, even with the correct password!
-
Directory Wizard, file/directory managerDW 4.95 Directory
Wizard is a small, fast file and directory manager for DOS versions 3 and higher. Fully
customizable with included DWCONFIG utility, you can assign different programs for various
file extensions. Even the display color is configurable to YOUR taste, not the whims of someone
else! Can shell to DOS and run other programs ("file, run" command), uses less than 40 kb
RAM when shelled to DOS. Doesn't slow performance or hog processor time, suitable for even
the oldest XT right up through Pentium, at least to around 450 mHz.
-
WizCODE, file encryption, DOS, simple small and
fastWizCODE
-
WizCrypt, Windows version of file encryptionWizCrypt f/WIN .
WizCODE and WizCrypt are simple file encryption/decryption tools. Helps you keep your private
files private. These are not "strong" encryption, if your girlfriend works for the CIA she will probably
be able to decipher files encrypted with them. But for everyday use, they seem to be sufficient.
They encrypt any file type, even image files, making the file unreadable to the casual passer-by!
Caution! Don't forget the password used to encrypt a file! There's no way outside "brute force"
decryption to decode the file. "Single pass" encryption, meaning the same password is used
to decrypt a file encrypted with either WizCODE or WizCrypt.
-
Wiz, a small, fast file viewer. Displays almost any type of file. Basically looks
like you used the "TYPE MYFILE.EXT" command, but with horizontal and vertical scroll!
No type of formatting, no directory browsing, must provide the file name at
the commandline, such as WIZ MYFILE.EXT. Very small, only 1088 bytes (not KBytes!)
Click here to download WIZ.COM, and, if you want something a bit
more powerful for plain text file viewing, try ReadIt!
-
ReadIt, simple ASCII plain text viewer, can be used to read emails, newsgroup posts in
combination with NetMail DOS, GetNews or PostNews ReadIt .
In addition to WIZ.COM's scrolling function, it also has directory/drive browsing
and print functions. Does not format documents, this is for plain text only, so ReadIt
will not work on PDF (Adobe Acrobat) or MS Word type documents.
-
WizBOOT, Reboots your PC, has interactive as well as command-line
interfaceWizBOOT
-
MiniMidi, command-line DOS MIDI player, plays MIDIs through PC
SpeakerMiniMidi Only plays 1 track/channel, as series of
beeps. Not as good as a real MIDI device or a sound card, but if your system has neither, it
may be a tad better than nothing!

EMBED tags enabled in ArachneMiniMidi APM

-
Wiz-It, a file splitter/joiner tool. Why would you need Wiz-It? Let's say you just found the download
installer file for some great application. The download is 4 megabytes...you want to install the
application on a second computer. You can't "copy" the file to diskette! Wiz-It allows you to split
a large file into smaller pieces, then join them back together when needed! Even someone who doesn't
have Wiz-It can join files split with Wiz-It, simply use the DOS COPY command with the /B option, to
create binary copy. This method allows you to send applictions to your friends or even yourself on a
different computer by email as attachments, over-coming the usual 1 or 2 meg limits imposed on
email attachments by most email services! Wiz-It
-
DeskWiz...a Win3X application which includes a notepad, a "to-do" list, simple calendar, an alarm,

it easier to launch your QBasic apps! QB Wizard
The following software are handy applications I use which were written by someone other than myself...these files are property of their respective authors. I make them available from my site as a convenience to the Internet Community. I think you will find them useful as well!
-
Icon Works Pro, by Lou Moccia. If you want a more powerful Win3X and higher icon creator/editor/extractor than Icon Wiz, try Icon Works Pro. No longer being developed, and the author no longer uses AOL. Still, one of the best icon applications I've used. Icon Works Pro
-
DLLMAN, tells you information about DLL files, which DLLs an EXE may depend on, and more. NOTE: This is the 16 bit, Win3X, version. Although it will run on Win9X, if you have Win9X you may wish to try DLLMAN32. The 32 bit version also runs on Win3X IF you have the MS WIN32s installed! DLLMAN 16 bit or DLLMAN
32 bit

FoxMail, a great email client for Windows. This is the 16 bit version. There is a 32 bit version available, check with the authors home page. Too many options to list here! FoxMail
-
mIRC version 3.92, this is the last full freeware version of the famous IRC client by Khaled Mardam-Bey. This version may not have the latest bells and whistles, but for speed, it is fantastic. LHA, Version 255, English...a file archiver (compressor), freeware...you can even
make self-extracting EXE files which are FREELY distributable, without having to pay
any royalties to PKWare, NicoMak (WinZip) etc. LHA255E.EXE
Download this file, then at DOS commanline type LHA255E to extract contents.
-
Whack-A-Mole...sort of a silly game, BUT...it helps develop hand to eye coordination.
Has helped my kids learn how to use a mouse much better than a regular "tutoring" program,
plus they have fun at the same time! A good way to kill a few hours, hehe! Click Whack
to download.
The following applications should be considered "beta" test versions
of projects of mine. They may or may not work for you...but they
have been stable on all machines I've tested them on!
-
WizLynx 4.16b, a DOS text mode only browser. Mouse support,
multiple document possibility. No JavaScript or forms support. However,
I've included the small text editor PC Speed Script which helps to use
search engines, especially Google search! WizLynx 4.16b
Click to download, a self extracting LHA archive! Create a directory for WizLynx,
copy WIZLYNX1.EXE to that directory, type WIZLYNX1 and press ENTER!
Next, edit the configuration file, WIZLYNX.CFG, and replace the "dummy"
settings with settings specific for your hardware and ISP. Can also be used in "offline"
mode as HTML viewer! See included documentation for help.
I've recently redone WizLynx and improved quite a number of things. Using some
techniques learned from Fred Macall, WizLynx now fetches more of the web pages
that once were unaccessible! Memory handling is improved drastically. Graphic
images are handled as downloads then viewed by way of "shell" to DOS and call
to viewer of choice (LxPic is default, and included). WizLynx 4.20b is now
available by clicking here! Give it a try and
let me know how this new WizLynx works for you!
Note that WizLynx also has its very own online home site! Check it out at
http://www.geocities.com/wzlx42/index.html
The WizLynx Online Home . Here is where you will find the latest information
about WizLynx, updates, add-ons as well as other DOS text mode WWW browsers!
-
WZPPP, a DOS command line dialer and PPP driver in one! No configuration
file read, but does use "environment variables"...edit the included dialer.bat and
try it with your DOS Internet applications! WZPPP 1.00
Also a self extracting LHA archive. Copy WZPPP100.EXE to your DOS Internet directory, I use
C:\DOSINET or C:\DOSTCPIP, then type WZPPP100 and press ENTER to extract it. The batch
file included can be edited with your favorite text editor, replace the "dummy" settings
with settings specific for your hardware and ISP, save it and your ready to try it! WZPPP
is based on LSPPP by David Lindauer, the author of LSIcq, the ICQ clone for DOS.
Read the text file WZPPP.TXT for more details!
-
VuHTML, a DOS text mode HTML viewer only. This sort of came out of my attempts
to get WizLynx to handle forms and images a bit. VuHTML1.EXE
click to download a self-extracting LHA archive, then just type VUHTML1 at DOS prompt, press ENTER,
to extract. Read the text file included then edit VUHTML.RC to show your preferences.
To run, type VUHTML FILENAME.HTM, where FILENAME.HTM is the name of the HTML
document you wish to view, press ENTER. This can even be used with DOS file managers, such as DW,
as the HTML viewer for local files. This is not a browser, can only view "local files".
-
WZGet, a DOS commandline utility to fetch items from the Internet via HTTP or FTP.
Very simple, read the included text file for instructions. I've used this in combination
with VuHTML to sort of "browse" the Internet. WZGET1.EXE is
a self extracting LHA archive, type WZGET1 and press ENTER to extract. Use WZGet on
the WEB.SCR files created by VuHTML...though sometimes it doesn't get a web page if the
page is a "dynamically produced" page, such as the one at Arachne Quick Chat.
-
WIZFAX, a set of DOS commandline tools to send and receive faxes. Small and
fast, doesn't need some CAS driver running all the time, saves memory! Download
WIZFAX1.EXE , make a directory on your hard drive,
I recommend C:\WIZFAX, copy the self-extracting LHA archive to it, then type
WIZFAX1 and press ENTER to extract contents. See the included documentation
for instructions on use. I've also included a sample BATCH program file which
you may edit and use if desired, as well as a sample plain ASCII text file,
FAX2SEND.TXT, which shows an example of the layout of your FAX documents.
Should also work with true TIFF format graphic FAX documents from other FAX
software, but no guarantee.
-
FTP-Wiz, DOS, based upon WATTCP, built on newer WATTCP protocols from 2000.
The original Wattcp FTP 0.7 was sometimes giving me trouble logging into
FTP sites served by MS IIS servers, especially those at my MSN Homepages
on TalkCity. So, I put this together and problems disappeared. Click
here and download FTP-Wiz, in LHA archive
format. You need LHA to extract it (see download link above).
Feedback is welcome on this software. THANK YOU!
If space permits, I'll make more applications available for download! Note that the DOS software is available on my DOS Internet Page, see Navigation Bar above or link below!
Please read any documentation included with these applications, as well
as with any applications downloaded from the DOS Internet Page. Greater
detail is given in the documents than I can give from this page.
