View of the East Arm of the Lake

Here, the lake narrows between steep granitic ridges and then opens again to form a serene and secluded pool of water (towards the top-right in the photo). The river, which tumbles noisely into the north end of the lake, passes through the narrows and then flows quietly out the southeast end of the lake. There is no development at all on this arm of the lake.
