             PRIVACY POLICY

Maintaining the security and confidentiality of client information is a top priority at Independent Financial Solutions, LLC (IFS).  We value your trust and carefully handle information we possess about you.  The policy presented below covers Customer Information. Customer Information means information personally identifiable with a specific client or about a client's current or former relationship with IFS. This policy is provided to you in accordance with the Federal Financial Privacy Law, 15 U.S.C. 6801-6810.

Information We Collect: IFS collects various types of information necessary to provide comprehensive financial planning. The Customer Information we collect and store generally consists of the following:  information gathered from investment statements, tax returns, and account applications, as well as other information you provide us, whether in writing, in person, by telephone, electronically or by any other means, such as your name, address, social security number, assets, income, and debt.

Protecting Your Information: IFS does not sell Customer Information to anyone. We will only share Customer Information with others as stated in this policy, unless we provide you with additional notice or ask for your permission.  IFS is not responsible for the use of Customer Information by third parties such as brokerage firms, insurance companies, attorneys, or CPA’s.

Keeping Up-To-Date With Our Privacy Policy: IFS will provide notice of our privacy policy annually, as long as you maintain an account with us. We reserve the right to make changes to this policy.

Our Former Clients: Even if you are no longer an IFS client, our privacy policy will continue to apply to you.

What steps has IFS taken to ensure the privacy and security of your information?

1.   Disclosure: IFS does not disclose any identifiable information such as name, social security number, birthdate, address, telephone number, account number, or account balances unless authorized by the client.  Such disclosures would only occur if the client had asked for IFS’ help on a particular task such as setting up an account with a brokerage firm, obtaining a life or disability insurance quote, providing tax basis information to the client’s CPA, or providing information on beneficiary designations for the client’s attorney.  None of this information is disclosed unless the client has requested or consented to the exchange of information.

2.   Physical Security: IFS maintains physical security measures including shredding of identifying information no longer needed, as well as locking the office and filing cabinets.

3.   Electronic Security: Personal computer systems and data are password protected.  In addition, IFS utilizes anti-virus and firewall software to securely separate the Internet from IFS’ internal computer systems and databases.

Are e-mail transmissions secure? IFS DOES NOT guarantee the security of e-mail correspondence. Identifying information would not be sent via e-mail unless the client requested the information in such a form.  If we must communicate identifying information, we may choose to call you or request via e-mail that you contact us.

Financial planning and investment advice can only be rendered after delivery of a Form ADV Part II.
