AFCALC.ZIP (DOS Version)
Provides calculation of Antenna Gain (effective) from Antenna Factor, when known, or allows determining Antenna Factor when Antenna Gain (effective) is known. Useful for making field strength determinations such as FCC Part 15 measurements. Short tutorial included. Freeware.FSCALC.ZIP (DOS Version)
Provides calculation of Path Loss, Antenna Factor, Field Strength at a given distance based on power, cable loss, and antenna gain (free space assumed), Field Strength given measured receive power (Pr) with a known antenna and cable loss, Antenna Gain (effective) if EIRP of source is known, distance, received power, and so forth. The source code in C is included. Freeware.FCCTESTS.ZIP (Excel Spreadsheet)
A set of EXCEL spreadsheets to aid in measuring Field Strength for FCC Part 15 levels. Designed to allow entry of measured levels, antenna factors, cable losses, preamp gains (if used) and calculating the maximum allowable levels (dBm and dBuV/m) based on duty factor and FCC rules. Note: The levels for the General FCC spec (15.209) use peak, not CISPR Quasi-peak for calculation of allowable levels. The rules do not allow for Quasi-peak detection or use of a Peak-to-Average duty factor backoff for 15.209 levels. Freeware. These programs are freeware and come with no implied or actual warrantee as to appropriateness for the user's application. Report any problems to Jim Eagleson, WB6JNN/9...
