RF designer for Allen-Bradley IAU series of 915 / 1830 MHz Readers
and 5 foot range, Passive Transponders.
These were designed for the harsh, automobile assembly plant environment
surviving up to 300 trips through the entire assembly process which included
passing through paint ovens having temperatures exceeding 210 degrees Celsius.
An earlier system was also developed for use in a variety of transportation
systems and licensed versions had a passive tag range up
to 30 feet.
Tag data rate was approximately 200 Kb/s with read times under 3 mS for 40 Alpha-Numeric Characters.
I developed various circularly polarized 915 and 1830 MHz Patch Antennas,
Quad Loop Antennas, and Reflector Backed, Folded Dipoles for use with this
system, an 1830 MHz receiver, 915 MHz, 5W transmitter with DAC based power setting, and TX and RX microstripline filters.
Under Construction. More to come...
