Dredgby Junction
The Dredgby Division is a collaborative effort between brothers Bill
and Tom Breitsprecher and is an HO version of the Milwaukee Road. The
railroad is based on Milwaukee’s Lines East. Dredgby Junction is our
link between the reality of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific
Railroad and our vivid imaginations. It features the transfer runs between
the Menomonee Valley Yards and the Humboldt Yards and the scenic bluffs
along the Mississippi River.
No real effort has been made to strictly follow prototype practices or
details – we have assembled our railroad from common products and
equipment from the major model suppliers and retailers. We are just trying
to capture the basic look and feel of this important Midwest railroad. We
have chosen to let someone else worry about the details.
The Dredgby Division has undergone a number of changes in concept and
form since its conception in 1988. These photos from Dredgby Junction
represent action along the right of way on the original layout built with
Paul Breitsprecher when he retired from many years of fine service at
UW-Whitewater’s library. While this layout is now "history,"
being dismantled in 1998, the Dredgby Division lives on in concept and
this project represents the latest development and growth of our interest
in railroading, model building, photography, computer technology, and
family fun.
