Brown Hyena

This is a brown hyena. Well, my conception of one as an anthropomorphic feller. The original intent of for this guy was that he would be dressed as an astronaut. But I got too caught up in Further Confusion's theme for 2005.

To be honest, I wanted to build a hyena-like character for halloween with a bit of NASA, Warhammer 40k, and Albedo to it. That'll be for another time.

(Nov 30, 2004) A side note: Each time I look at this mask, I keep seeing a baboon's face in it. It's supposed to be a brown hyena. So, I'll be redesigning the mask one more time. Finish date is still January 10, 2005. Here's some more pics. It's still in the works as of this posting (Nov 3, 2004). Here are the mask "skin" and the "skull." My intentions are to incorporate some animatronix into the mask's face. We'll see if the skin is too tough or not. The skin itself is made of a platinum silicone called Dragon Skin(tm) by Smooth-On. It's a translucent white color. I've just colored it with a mix of Indian Ink and Brick Red Ink to get that dark color.
