Where to begin... Rhonhall Sanguire is professionally a scout. Unfortunately, due to his poor eye sight, he was not a good shot with a pistol. Thus, he could not follow in his father's footsteps and join the Dragoons that protected the important members of the Braegurn Merchant House. But he was excellent at exploring for better paths and, well, scouting out the safe routes for the merchant caravans. After all, he is a fennec. And with those big ears, he could hear the brigands and thieves whom waited long for the coming caravan that never came. In his career as a scout for the Braegurn Merchant House, he still has his ambitions and his heart set on becoming a Dragoon like his father, if he can only get past his father's fame and his own poor eyesight. The only thing he has now of his past after the demise of his father is the pistol that his father had used in the service of the Braegurns. His father's demise is another story to be told another time.
Below here is a costume I created of Rhonhall Sanguire. I masqueraded this costume
around at Conifur NorthWest 2001 in
Seattle, WA and to work for Halloween. The
Halloween part was a little deal with someone from work that if I were to wear a costume
to work than she would do the same. She didn't, I did. It was also Halloween
and of course, I was going to wear a costume for Halloween!

Obviously, I used foam. It's a closed cell foam, the same kind you'd find in a couch cushion. I also used lots of pictures as models to sculpt the mask. |

I used a standard white faux fur bought from a fabric store. The fur length is somewhere around 2 inches long. |

Ah! The completed mask. I bought a set of dog shears to trim the fur to the way I wanted it. The eyes (altho, a little incomplete) are just a keepsake ornament found in a craft store. I also used a hot glue gun to put some of the fur on (all used on the muzzle). the rest of the fur was sparsely stitched on with thread and needle. That's about it, other than a lousy cooling system that needs to be restructured. |

The paws were constructed from a glove pattern by the Green Pepper Inc called Polar Paws. Hand sewing these was a real pain but gave a nice seamless result. |

The tail was created using a pattern from Lone Wolf's fursuit page (I no longer have a valid link to his site). In addition, I added a carved up PVC piping to for tail shape which is attached to a weight lifter's belt (kind of a neoprene like material). The tail was stuffed with scrap fur, because I didn't have any foam on hand and I was tired. |
